The Budget & Property Committee is a standing sub-committee of the ConVal School Board. It is comprised of not more than 5 members: a Chairperson, and District level administration. Members and Chairperson are appointed annually by the Chair of the School Board.

The roles of the Budget & Property Committee include:

  • Long-range budget planning that balances quality schools and fiscal responsibility

  • Utilize the annual school budget preparation process as a means to improve communications within the schools and the community

  • Work with district administrators to prepare a budget that provides adequate resources to maintain the District’s programs and facilities

  • When necessary, recommend the approval of capital expenditures and special warrant articles to full Board

  • Adopt and present guidelines and a schedule for the timely submission of the budget to the Board and the public

  • Review and recommend to the full Board any changes in ConVal District policies pertaining to facilities, fiscal management, and other applicable areas

  • Study and make recommendations on specific applicable concerns referred to the committee by the School Board

  • Make reports as necessary on the outcome of each sub-committee meeting

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Chair of the School Board

The Budget & Property Committee typically meets on the second Tuesday of every month.
